The 5G version of the Xiaomi Mi 9 has
appeared on TENAA. These are just preliminary details, the full specifications
are yet to be published, but they do confirm some of the rumors and give us
some photos to look at.
The phone is slightly thicker – 8.95mm,
up from 7.6mm – to accommodate a larger 4,000mAh battery (up from 3,300mAh). It
should support 45W fast charging (up from 27W). According to the TENAA data,
the screen size remains at 6.39”, but the rumors claim additional upgrades are
happening too – like switching the 1440p+ resolution.
Also, Xiaomi is expected to bump the
chipset up to Snapdragon 855+ and add OIS to the main camera on the back. Like
the Mi Mix 3 5G, it will have a dual SIM card slot (and dual standby). Based on
a post by China Unicom, the phone will be called “Xiaomi Mi 9S” and it should
be released in September.
