Meizu accidentally leaked its Meizu 16Xs smartphone
yesterday, but today it's announcing it for real. It brings a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED
panel with 1080 x 2232px resolution, a fingerprint reader sitting and
Snapdragon 675 with 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.
The camera setup on the back is 48MP + 8MP + 5MP.
The main 48MP unit has f/1.7 aperture, while the 8MP wide-angle unit features
f/2.2 lens. The third one is actually a depth sensor aiming to improve the
portrait mode. On the front sits the 16MP selfie snapper with f/2.2 aperture.
The device has a generous 4,000 mAh battery with
support for mCharge 18W charging. It also comes with Flyme OS 7 on top of
Android 9.0 Pie. No 3.5mm audio jack, unfortunately.
The Meizu 16Xs comes in four colors - Midnight
Black, Atlantis Blue, Coral Orange and Silk White. The 6GB/64GB model sells for
CNY 1,698 (US$ 245) while the 128GB variant asks CNY 1,998 (US$ 289). All models will
start selling on June 10.
In addition to the Meizu 16Xs announcement, the
company also released its Type-C earphones called Meizu EP2C with a price tag
of CNY 129 (US$ 19).
