Cherry Mobile silently released several Android Go
devices this week including the Cherry Mobile Flare J2 2018. Having the Android
Go operating system allows the device to run smoothly despite sporting entry
level specs. However, games will still be limited by the 1GB RAM and Mali-400
graphics chip.
The Cherry Mobile Flare J2 2018 flaunts a TrueView
display. That’s what the company calls screens with 18:9 aspect ratio and
rounded corners. It’s just a 5.3-inch TN LCD panel though and the screen
resolution is FWVGA+ only or 480 x 960 pixels. Nevertheless, it still makes the
device look sleek and modern.
Aside from being an Android Go smartphone and having
a tall display, the Cherry Mobile Flare J2 2018 also has dual rear cameras!
This is composed of an 8 Megapixel main camera and an unspecified secondary
camera. I’ll have to test if the secondary camera really works or if it’s just
a cosmetic feature though. The device also has a 5 Megapixel selfie snapper on
the front.
A 2000mAh removable Li-ion battery powers the Cherry
Mobile Flare J2 2018. There’s a dedicated button above its volume rocker called
the Power Saver Key. When pressed, it presents two options: Accelerate and
Power Saver.
When Accelerate is selected, the device clears up
the RAM to speed up its performance. On the other hand the Power Saver option
will trigger a decrease in battery consumption. The official price of the
Cherry Mobile Flare J2 2018 is PHP 3,299.00. It’s now available in several Cherry
Mobile kiosks and authorized retailers.
