SJ5000X Elite
SJCAM
release official details of the US$ 149.99 SJCAM SJ5000X Elite action camera with
Sony IMX078 sensor, 4K video and Gyro features.
A
few days back we reviewed the SJ4000+ Gyro, its a stunning buy for the money
and especially impressive since it recorded in 2K, boasted an amazing hardware
image stabilisation feature and ships with a box load of useful accessories and
attachments.
Next
in line and available for pre-order now, is the SJCAM SJ5000X action camera.
This new model comes with a similar chassis, is available in bright colours but
adds a Sony IMX078 sensor and up to 4K recording to the mix.
The
12 mega-pixel Sony IMX078 is a back illuminated CMOS image sensor with higher
pixel counts and sensitivity. The sensor has a pixel size of 1.55 µm and in the
SJ5000x can be set to record at wide-angles of 170, 140, 110 and 70 degrees.
A
similar hardware gyro is incorporated in to the design for smooth video, so we
are looking at an action camera that can record smooth video of up to 4K
(interpolated) with richer detail than the already very impressive SJ4000+.
Other
details include a new Novatek NTK96660 CPU, WIFI for use with an Android or iOS
smartphone, a larger built-in 2-inch display, new burst and timer modes and the
same boatload of hardware accessories that shipped with the SJ4000+.
