Tecno launched the Phantom V Fold back in February of last year, and it now finally seems like its successor is on its way. The Phantom V Fold2 was spotted in Geekbench in January, and now it's surfaced in the Google Play Console.
The listing reveals the name to be Phantom
V Fold2, and not Phantom V2 Fold as we thought a few months ago when we covered
the aforementioned Geekbench run. The upcoming device will be powered by a
MediaTek chipset, which could be a variant of the Dimensity 9000+, the same SoC
that powered its predecessor.
This will be paired with 12GB of RAM
(again, just like in the original Phantom V Fold). The inner screen's
resolution will be identical too: 2000x2296. If you're wondering what the
upgrades will be, the battery capacity will be one of them: 5,610 mAh according
to a TUV certification, up from 5,000 mAh in the original. The Phantom V Fold2
has also been certified for sale in Europe, so it will be offered at least in
some parts of that continent.
