Motorola took the wraps off its Razr 50 series at a big event held in China and we also got a new S-series device with the moto S50 Neo. This midrange offering features a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, a curved 6.7-inch pOLED display (FHD+ 120Hz), and a 5,000 mAh battery with 30W charging.
Motorola is offering the S50 Neo in three
colors – Gray, Olivine, and Surf which were developed in partnership with
Pantone. The latter two also boast a textile-like nanotexture back featuring a
skin-friendly and wear-resistant finish for a touch of style.
The back houses a 50MP main cam which uses
a Sony IMX882 sensor with an F/1.79 aperture and 4-to-1 pixel binning. It is
joined by an 8MP ultrawide lens covering a 118-degree field of view while the
punch hole cutout on the front houses a 32MP shooter. S50 Neo is equipped with
Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset paired with 8/12GB RAM and 256/512GB
storage which is expandable via the microSD card slot. The software side is
covered by Android 14.
Motorola S50 Neo starts at CNY 1,399
($192) in its 8/256GB trim. There’s a 12/256GB version for CNY 1,599 (US$ 220) and
a 12/512GB range-topping version for CNY 1,899 (US$ 261). Open sales in China
start on Friday, June 28. The device is also expected to to be announced internationally
as the Moto G85.
