Apple’s new iPad Air (2024) now comes in two sizes – 11 and 13-inches, both still utilizing 60Hz IPS LCD Liquid Retina displays. The 11-inch model features a 2,360 x 1,640px resolution and 500 nits peak brightness while the 13-inch gets 2,732 x 2,048px resolution and 600 nits brightness. The design is just like the iPad Air (2022) but with the 12MP front-facing camera now located on the horizontal plane for a more natural experience during video calls. The back houses a single 12MP camera.
The new iPad Air models get updated to the
Apple M2 chip (8-core CPU and 10-core GPU) with 8GB RAM and 128GB base storage.
TouchID is still embedded in the power button and both sizes of the new iPad
Air are compatible with Apple’s current Magic Keyboard and the new Apple Pencil
Pro.
The new Airs also get Wi-Fi 6E with the
cellular models also supporting 5G connectivity via eSIM. The software side is
covered by iPad OS 17.4 out of the box. iPad Air (2024) comes in space gray,
starlight, purple, and blue colors. The 11-inch model starts at US$ 599 in its
128GB Wi-Fi trim while the 13-inch version starts at US$ 799. Both new iPad Air
models will be available for pre-order today while open sales in the US are
scheduled to start next week.
