Ulefone, known for its extra durable rugged smartphones, continues to expand its product lineup. The company recently released the Note 17 Pro and, most recently, announced the Armor 23 Ultra at MWC 2024. The most notable feature of the eagerly awaited product is undoubtedly its two-way satellite messaging capability. Now, after a short wait, the phone is available for purchase.
As mentioned at the beginning of our
Ulefone Armor 23 Ultra review, it is a rugged phone. Therefore, it is not a
flagship like many of its competitors in the market. However, this doesn’t mean
it lacks ideal performance and modern technologies. Taking a look at the
features of the Armor 23 Ultra, we can see that it is powered by the MediaTek
Dimensity 8020 chipset. This processor, previously used in models such as the
Tecno Camon 20s Pro 5G and Infinix Zero 30 5G, proves to be quite sufficient,
especially for everyday use.
To ensure smooth performance, this model
is equipped with a 12 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 512 GB UFS3.1 storage capacity. When
we look at the camera features of the Ulefone Armor 23 Ultra, we can see a quad
setup on the back. These include a 50 MP wide-angle lens, a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle
lens, a 64 MP lens with night vision, and a 3.2X optical zoom telephoto lens.
On the front, there is a 50 MP camera greeting us. Thanks to these features,
the Armor 23 Ultra is capable of recording 4K videos at 30 fps.
The 6.78-inch display of the Ulefone Armor
23 Ultra stands out with its 1080 x 2460 pixel resolution and 396 PPI pixel
density. Additionally, the 120Hz high refresh rate provides users with a smooth
and clear visual experience. The Ulefone Armor 23 Ultra features a built-in
5280mAh battery and supports 120W wired charging along with 50W wireless
charging. This provides both fast and convenient charging options.
The Ulefone Armor 23 Ultra is also the
first rugged phone to offer two-way satellite communication. This means the
phone can both send and receive messages via satellite, as well as transmit
emergency SOS signals. The phone supports satellite navigation systems such as
BeiDou, GPS, Galileo, and QZSS. Satellite connectivity is ideal for
communication in areas where cellular signals are weak or nonexistent. This
feature is particularly important for those who travel to remote regions like
mountains, oceans, and polar areas. Indeed, the target audience for this phone
is precisely individuals engaging in such activities.
