Redmi has recently launched the Redmi 13R smartphone in the Chinese market with a price tag of 999 Yuan (US$ 139). Surprisingly, the Redmi 12R has been silently listed for purchase in China. Here is all the information about the said device. According to IT Home, images of the real Redmi 12R for the first time in August. However, it received little attention at the time. Initially, the device was accessible through offline channels and third-party retailers. Now, it has made its debut in the online sphere, becoming available for purchase on Xiaomi Mall.

The Redmi 12R moniker suggests that it is a predecessor to the recently unveiled Redmi 13R. Surprisingly, the device has been made available for purchase online after the 13R, with the same price tag of 999 Yuan (US$ 139). The Redmi 12R has a 6.79-inch LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 550 nits of brightness. Under the hood, the device has the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, 4 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

The device draws power from a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging. It ships with the Android 13 OS, which is overlaid with the MIUI 14 custom skin. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel selfie camera, and its rear shell has a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and an LED flash. The handset comes in two shades, such as Obsidian Black and Smoke Green.

The Redmi 12R is nothing but the rebranded version of the Poco M6 Pro 5G available in markets outside of China. On the other hand, a recent leak claimed that the Redmi 13R will be repackaged as the Poco M6 5G in India.
