ASUS announces the Chromebook CR1 and Chromebook Flip CR1 as new learning buddies for students and educators. To start both machines are built with military-grade reliability tested with the MIL-STD-810H rating. Based on ASUS' claims, the laptops are capable of withstanding 120cm drop test and panel pressure test plus they come with spill-resistant keyboards to ensure long-lasting usage.
They both feature an 11.6-inch HD + 1366 x
768 resolution screen and a 16:9 aspect ratio. However, the Flip CR1 version
gets a touchscreen panel and garaged USI stylus support. They are powered by
Intel Pentium Silver N6000 4-core processor with 3.3GHz clock speed, Intel UHD
graphics, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and up to 64GB eMMC storage.
When it comes to battery, ASUS promises a
12-hour (48WHR) straight from both devices including fast charging support. The
Flip also has an 8MP world-facing camera however the regular version's webcam
isn't specified. The devices also have options for LTE and WiFi versions for
connectivity. As for software the runs Chrome OS with access to the vast
library of Google Play Store.
Lastly, they come with a 3-year on-site
warranty and they are covered with ASUS Platinum Protection for accidental
damage like drops, liquid, and other acts of nature. This program is designed
to offer additional protection beyond the standard warranty. Unfortunately, no
