vivo today announced it will launch the T2 series in India on April 11 at noon local time. The lineup will consist of two smartphones - vivo T2 5G and vivo T2x 5G. The T2x was introduced in China last May with the Dimensity 1300 SoC, 6.58" 144Hz FullHD+ LCD, and 6,000 mAh battery with 44W charging. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and sports three cameras - 50MP primary, 2MP macro, and 16MP selfie.
The vivo T2 was also supposed to launch in
China in H1 2022 but was ultimately canceled. However, its images and specs
were mistakenly uploaded on vivo's website, which revealed it was just a
version of the iQOO Neo6 SE. You can check the detailed specs comparison here.
That said, the teaser image shared by vivo
India reveals the Indian T2 and T2x will be different from their Chinese
counterparts since their camera islands look different. They don't protrude.
Besides, both smartphones have a flat design.
vivo hasn't detailed the Indian T2 and
T2x's specs sheets yet, but the promo page on Indian online retailer Flipkart's
website reveals at least one smartphone will pack a FullHD+ AMOLED display with
1,300 nits peak brightness, 360Hz touch sampling rate, and a centered punch
hole for the selfie camera. More details about the camera, processor, and
launch offers will be revealed on April 7, 9, and 11, respectively.
