Schenker has launched a couple of new laptops in its 16-inch Vision lineup that the company claims to be the lightest devices in their performance class. The new Vision 16 and Vision 16 Pro come with magnesium alloy chassis, Intel Alter Lake-H processors, and 16:10 aspect ratio displays. Let’s take a closer look at the specs and features.
Both models have an IPS display with a
resolution of 2560 x 1600, a 16:10 aspect ratio, 350 nits of brightness, and a
99% sRGB color gamut. The Vision 16 Pro’s maximum refresh rate is 240 Hz,
compared to the Vision 16 model’s 90 Hz (optional 60 Hz power savings mode).
The Vision 16 and Vision 16 Pro share the same chassis made of AZ91D magnesium
alloy, measuring 354 x 245 x 17.1 mm, and both are powered by Intel’s Core
i7-12700H cooled with liquid metal. The non-GPU version of the Vision 16 weighs
just 1.45 kg, whereas the Pro version weighs 1.6 kg.
The Vision 16 can be configured without a
dedicated GPU or with an RTX 3050 Ti that can run at up to 65 watts (50 watts
TGP plus 15 watts Dynamic Boost 2.0). The Pro variant, on the other hand,
includes more GPU options such as the RTX 3060, 3070 Ti, and 3080 with 16 GB
GDDR6 RAM. These alternatives are efficiency-optimized due to the small chassis,
with TGP up to 95 watts each (70 watts TGP plus 25 watts Dynamic Boost 2.0).
The maximum RAM capacity supported is 64
GB, with the Pro edition providing DDR5-4800 standards and the non-Pro version
supporting DDR4-3200. The storage side includes two M.2 slots, each of which is
coupled to four PCIe 4.0 lanes. A Thunderbolt 4 connector with charging
function and DP mode is notably included, as are 2x USB-A 3.1 Gen 1 connectors,
an audio input, a full-size SD card reader, and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. The Pro
version additionally has an HDMI 2.1 video output, although the non-Pro version
just has HDMI 2.0. A 1080p camera and a full-size white backlit keyboard are
also standard. The battery capacity is 80 Wh.
The Vision 16 Pro’s base configuration,
now available on bestware.com for € 1,899, includes the RTX 3060, 16 GB
DDR5-4800 RAM, and a 500 GB Samsung 980 SSD. The non-Pro version starts at
€ 1,549 with Intel’s Xe iGPU and 8 GB DDR4-3200 RAM but can be upgraded to the
RTX 3050 Ti for an extra € 182.
