Back in December 2021, reports revealed that the Aqua X was spotted in several Cherry Mobile stores and in its catalog. Fast forward to mid-February 2022, the company formally announced that the said device is now available in its stores and kiosks nationwide.
To recap, the Cherry Mobile Aqua X is a
budget device promising a bigger and better screen and battery at an affordable
price tag. On paper, the device looks good for the price. The Cherry Mobile
Aqua X features a glass-like back design in Red or Blue color, and a 6.26-inch
LCD (IPS) screen with HD 1600 x 720 resolution and a notch housing the 8MP Sony
IMX219 selfie camera.
Under the hood, the chip it is using is
the dated 2.0GHz 16nm MediaTek Helio P23 octa-core processor with Mali-G71 MP2
GPU. But, this chip is faster than most quad-core solutions you will find at
this price point. Cherry Mobile paired it with 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable
storage, and a 3,500mAh battery with 10W charging. The phone also has a 700MHz
Band 28-ready 4G LTE support.
