Xiaomi first launched a Mi branded mouse in
September 2016. That’s a long time away and the success of the product has
spurred a couple of other improved models to get outed. The MIJIA Air mouse has
been unveiled in China, clutching a price tag of 89 yuan (US$ 12). The price is
even cheaper than the first-gen model even with the improved features.
The MIJIA Air mouse comes with an ultra-thin,
portable, stylish and lightweight design. Surprisingly, some find the design
unappealing due to the absence of a prominent contour where the hand can rest.
That isn’t supposed to be a big deal as the mouse makes up for any flaws with
good build quality and powerful hardware. It comes with a thickness of just
2.9cm. That is one-third the size of other mouse models in the same category.
It can easily fit into a jeans pocket which is usually tight.
The device comes with a metal roller which gives a
better rolling feel. It brings support for dual-mode connectivity mode which
can be achieved via Bluetooth and an adapter. With the two modes, a single
mouse can be used to control more than one device at the same time. The
dual-mode switch button is located under the fuselage. You also get the option
of turning off the mouse sound via a button. Thus, it can be used in serene
environments where noise isn’t needed like offices, conference centres,
library, classroom, etc.
Further, the mouse features high-precision
photoelectric sensors make it easy to use on jeans, wooden or plastic tables or
on top a sheet of paper. There are no words yet on the availability but we expect this product
to be available via third-party retailers outside China soon.
