Honor
Play 3e has officially launched, carrying with it a rather nice design, some
decent specs, and a pretty great price tag to boot. When it comes to specs, the Honor Play 3e is
decidedly a budget device. It features a 5.71-inch display with a 1520×720
resolution. The device runs on a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset along with, 2/3GB
of RAM and 32/64GB internal storage configurations. A big new selling point for
the device is the expandable SD card slot, which takes cards of up to 512GB.
For the camera, the phone has a single 13-megapixel
rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie camera
with f/2.2 aperture. It runs on the EMUI 9.1 skin, based on Android Pie
out-of-the-box. On the battery front, the phone is fueled by a 3020mAh battery
unit, which is more than enough for a mid-range phone like this.
The connectivity features on the phone include 4G
VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, GLONASS,3.5mm audio jack,
dual-SIM and micro USB port. Of particular note is that the sim and SD card
tray have three slots, which means you don’t have to choose between a second
sim card and a microSD card with the Honor Play 3e.
Honor Play 3e uses a dual color design with gradient
finishes, and comes in three color options – Black, Gold and Blue. When it
comes to pricing, the Honor Play 3e with 2GB+32GB goes for 699 yuan (US$ 99),
while the 3GB+64GB variant goes for 899 yuan (US$ 127). It’s available for
purchase through VMall and all other major Chinese eCommerce sites.
