At the IFA 2019 event in Berlin, HUAWEI unveiled its
new whole-home WiFi system- HUAWEI WiFi Q2 Pro. HUAWEI says that it can be used
in areas where the signal is weak for full coverage and made possible by the
combination of dual-band auto-selection, seamless roaming, and automatic
channel optimization.
The WiFi Q2 Pro is powered by HUAWEI’s Gigahome 5630
gigabit PLC modem chip along with PLC Turbo technology aiming to provide
enhanced anti-interference for PLC networking and to realize fast data
transfers, low latency. HUAWEI says that with the Gigahome 5630 gigabit
powerline chip and PLC Turbo, the device is capable of expanding 200 Mbps
broadband effectively.
HUAWEI WiFi Q2 Pro 3 Pack Hybrid version utilizes
5GHz mesh Wi-Fi technology and hybrid networking of PLC and Wi-Fi networks to
offer theoretical connection speeds of up to 1,867 Mbps. It comes with a
plug-and-play feature, allows for the connection of up to 15 satellites for
every configured base and once the satellite is plugged in, it will synchronize
the Wi-Fi name and password from the Base without any extra configuration. It
also supports IPv6 and dual-band auto-selection and seamless roaming. Users can
manage their WiFi network with the Huawei Smart Home App and monitor the
network, set speed limits, allow guest connections, set Wi-Fi timing, pause
connectivity on your kids’ devices and more.
It was announced in China earlier this year and now
HUAWEI has announced is global availability. However, it is priced in China at
799 Yuan (US$ 112) and we can expect similar pricing in other
countries too.
