A range of wireless speakers has been unveiled by
Bowers & Wilkins this week specifically designed for audiophiles and
serious hi-fi enthusiasts in the form of the Bowers & Wilkins Formation
wireless speaker range. The Formation range offers users “high-fidelity
performance” underpinned by 24-bit audio and 96kHz sample-rate streaming.
The new hardware will also feature a mesh networking
system co-developed by EVA Automation, the parent company of Bowers & Wilkins.
Exclusive to the Bowers & Wilkins wireless speaker range the patented
technology enables the B&W speakers to synchronise at roughly one
microsecond.
More information on all the new speakers in the
range jump over to the Engadget website. Bowers
& Wilkins demoed all of the products at a launch event in England last
week. Unfortunately none of the new hardware support voice control or “smart”
third-party services such as Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and the like. Although
this may be a positive for some.
The Formation range is now available to purchase
throughout the United States and will be available throughout the United
Kingdom in a few days time from April 27th, 2019 onwards. For more details and
pricing jump over to the Bowers & Wilkins website.
