At CES ZTE has announced that its nubia Red Magic
Mars gaming smartphone is headed to the US and Europe pretty soon - so the
rumors were right. The handset will be available in those markets on January 31. Pricing
has only been unveiled for the US, and it's US$ 399 for the entry-level version
which has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The higher-end models with 8/128GB
and 10/256GB, respectively, are also likely to be offered in Western markets,
but that hasn't been made official yet.
If you're wondering what you get in exchange for US$ 399 of your hard earned cash, here's a quick spec reminder for the nubia Red
Magic Mars. First off, the one important thing for gamers: it has an RGB light
panel on the back. It's also got a 6-inch FHD+ touchscreen, the Snapdragon 845
chipset, Android 9 Pie, a 16 MP f/1.8 main camera, an 8 MP selfie shooter, and
a 3,800 mAh battery.
The Red Magic Mars became available in China last
month, and a few days ago it topped all of its competitors in AnTuTu's monthly
Top 10 rating. Maybe that's thanks to its dual liquid+air cooling system.
