This month Northern Digital has been revealing more details about their new reference design virtual reality motion controller which takes the form of the Atraxa. The team from Road to VR have been able to try the new virtual reality motion controllers out and provide a quick hands-on preview of what you can expect from the new controllers that promise 6DOF without occlusion issues.
The Canadian-based manufacturer specialises in 3D measurement devices and is offering the Atraxa is either an enclosed controller or as three bare PCB components of two trackers, and a single receiver. Allowing those interested to repackage it and use the technology in in their own virtual reality hardware if desired. The Road to VR website explains more.
