Xiaomi has launched a new version of its Mi Notebook
Laptop 15.6-inch model in China. The new version has as its distinguishing
feature from other models, the eighth-generation Intel Core i3 processor at its
heart.
The Mi Notebook 15.6-inch laptop is already
available in several variants having either the eighth-gen Intel Core i5 and
eighth-gen Intel Core i7 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 8GB RAM on some
models. This new model is equipped with 4GB DDR4 memory as well as 128GB SSD.
The laptop also comes with expandable storage slot that adds 32GB to the
internal storage.
On the design aspect, the Mi Notebook 15.6-inch
continues the no logo design of previous Xiaomi laptop models. The laptop is
light and portable, just 19.9m thick despite using an all-metal casing. It is
equipped with a 1080p display, dual fan cooling system, with 2+2 heat pipe
layout to ensure stable performance. However, the arrangement of the keyboard
has some redesign. The new Notebook now has a dedicated numerical keypad with
dedicated keys for the calculator, browser, and scroll lock. The Mi Notebook is
also equipped with dual 3W speakers and Dolby Audio surround sound technology.
It comes pre-installed with genuine Microsoft Office and Xiaomi’s own sync assistant.
In addition, the new Core i3 version of the Mi
Notebook 15.6-inch comes with 7 major interfaces. These include USB 2.0,
Gigabit Ethernet port, HDMI interface, two USB 3.0, headset jack, three-in-one
card reader, etc. The laptop is priced at just 3399 yuan (US$ 491) which makes it
the cheapest N15.6-inch Notebook around. Buyers can even get further discount
by depositing 100yuan now and see that grow to 400 yuan by 11.11 when they will
complete the payment to get it for just 3,099 yuan (US$ 448). It will ship on
November 11. We believe the laptop will be available soon outside China.
