OPPO announced the R17 and R17 Pro
phones with reduced notch screens. It is speculated that the upcoming OPPO R19
may sport a newer screen technology to offer larger screen space to the user.
Concept renders of the OPPO R19 smartphone have surfaced today. The new images
reveal that the smartphone will be arriving with dual in-display cameras that
will allow it to deliver higher screen-to-body ratio.
In the above images, the upper portion of the OPPO
R19 concept model can be seen with two holes for the dual selfie cameras. Not
only the side bezels are very thin, but also the upper and lower bezels are
quite narrow. This indicates that it may offer a screen-to-body ratio of more
than 95 percent.
Like the R17 duo, the R19 concept phone features an
AMOLED screen. Hence, it is equipped with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The
backside of the phone features a vertically arranged triple camera unit. OPPO
is one of the smartphone brands that is gunning to launch a 5G phone in the
first half of 2019. The 5G logo that can be seen on the display of the R19
concept phone suggests that it could be the company’s first 5G phone.
The OPPO R19 concept renders show that the phone
will be arriving with 6 GB of RAM and it come in 64 GB and 128 GB storage
editions. The renders do not carry information on the rear cameras, but its
frontside features 40-megapixel dual camera setup.
Samsung may launch the Galaxy S10 series at the
Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 event in the coming year. It is speculated
that the Galaxy S10 could be the first smartphone to arrive with in-display
camera technology. There is no information available on the launch date of the
OPPO R19 Pro.
Probably, the company may announce it in March 2019. There is a
possibility that other Chinese manufacturers may also release phones with
in-screen camera in 2019. Since OnePlus is known for borrowing its design OPPO
R-series, it is likely that the OnePlus 7 may also sport the new display
design.
