Say “hello” to the Oppo A7x or is it “hello
again”? This is a variation on the Oppo F9, which adds a new storage capacity
and changes a few things. There’s only one storage option – 128GB – which is strangely paired
with only 4GB of RAM. We say “only” as the F9 gives you the option of 4GB or
6GB RAM, but its storage tops out at 64GB.
Also, the 25MP camera of the F-phone has been
swapped for a 16MP f/2.0 shooter. The 16+2MP rear camera remains unchanged,
however. Unfortunately, the VOOC fast charging seems to have been disabled as
well.
The Sunrise Red color is missing, though the Starry
Purple and Twilight Blue paint jobs are available. Be warned, this model will
likely never leave China, at least not with the same name. The Oppo A7x available
from September 14 (at 10:00am local time) at CNY 2,000 (US$ 290/€ 250).
