If you dig the waterproof design of the sporty new
Jaybird X4 wireless headphones, but want to spend less than US$ 130, there’s an
even newer, cheaper model of cord-cutting earbuds to consider from the Logitech
subsidiary.
Acquired by the popular maker of PC and mobile
peripherals back in 2016, Jaybird is putting the Tarah wireless sport
headphones up for pre-order exclusively on its own website today. Priced at US$ 99.99, which undercuts the BeatsX by a substantial 50 bucks, these lightweight,
comfy, water and sweat-resistant earbuds are headed to stores across the US and
Canada next month.
The Jaybird Tarah will be available in three nifty
color combinations (Black/Flash, Nimbus Gray/Jade, and Solstice Blue/Glacier),
the latter of which you’ll only be able to purchase from the company’s e-store
and Best Buy.
Cosmetically similar to the X4, Tarah has to make do
with around 6 hours of battery life between charges, compared to a solid 8. But
fret not, bargain hunters, as the two wireless headsets share fast charging
features, allowing the lower-cost variant to get one full hour of play time
after a quick 10-minute power-up session.
Good for both music and phone calls, the Jaybird
Tarah delivers “crisp, clear, and uncompromised” sound, with customizable EQ
settings available in a dedicated app, and an outdoor-friendly design combining
interchangeable silicone ear gels, adjustable cables, and IPX7 rating for
underwater survival down to one meter for up to 30 minutes. T
