Acer's Predator gaming notebooks
are well known for their great performance and equally amazing design. They
released a new notebook, the Helios 500.
First off, the Predator Helios
500 is a notebook with gaming in its core. It can have up to an 8th Gen Intel
Core 19+ processor which is overclockable. It will also have Intel Optane
Memory for faster response rate and load times and up to 64GB of RAM. It can
support NVMe PCie SSDs as well for fast data transfer rates. GPU wise it can
have up to an overcloackable NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070. In terms of network
connectivity, it will have a Killer DoubleShot Pro networking technology.
The display can either be a 4K
UHD or FHD 17.3-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It will also support
NVIDIA G-Sync technology for both the built-in and external displays that you
connect to it. It has dual Thunderbolt 3 ports, display port and HDMI 2.0 ports
wherein you can connect up to 3 external monitors. In the audio department, the
Helios 500 will have two speakers, a subwoofer, TrueHarmony and Waves MAXXaudio
technology.
Since overclocking was mentioned,
the Helios 500 promises to have a good thermal management system. It has 2 of
Predator Gaming's very own AeroBlade 3D metal fans with five heat pipes to make
sure that the temperature is evenly spread out. Fan speeds can be controlled
through the Predator Sense app.
