At CES 2018, Qualcomm has announced QCC5100 series,
its latest Low Power Bluetooth SoC. It includes QCC5120 and QCC5121 SoC’s. They
comes with Flexible software platform with powerful new IDE support. They have
ultra small form factor and a low power design. Both of them support Voice
assistant services and comes with low power wake word detection.
The QCC5120 and QCC5121 are equipped with dual-core
12MHz 32-bit processor application subsystem and supports aptX, aptX HD,
Qualcomm TrueWireless stereo and Enhanced ANC (Feed-Forwared, Feed-Backward,
Hybrid).
These SoC’s come with dual-core Qualcomm Kalimba DSP
Audio Subsystem with 2-ch 99dBA line inputs (single ended) and 2-ch 98dBA
headset Class D integrated amplifer. The have 192 kHz 24-bit i2S & SPDIF
interfaces and comes with embedded RAM + ROM support for external flash memory.
They also support Bluetooth V5.0 and 2MBPS Bluetooth
LE. The SoC is said to reduce power consumption by up to 65% for both voice and
music streaming. Qualcomm’s QCC5100 series designs are expected to be available
in H1 2018. Commercial devices are expected later in 2018.
