Anyone searching for a truly portable last mile
electric scooter may be interested in a new design created by the developers at
WideWheel, who have launched their new electric scooter via Indiegogo this
month. The team of already raised over double their required pledge goal making
sure that the electric scooter makes the jump into production. The Widewheel as
the name suggests is fitted with ultra-wide tyres measuring 100mm in width, as
well as front and rear suspension providing a comfortable ride for users
without sacrificing portability.
The Widewheel electric scooter is available to back
from US$ 298 for super earlybird backers and comes equipped with a 36V 4.4Ah
rechargeable battery that is capable of providing a range of up to 9 miles or
15 km. If you would prefer a larger range an upgrade to an 8.8Ah battery is
also available offering a range of 18.5 miles or 30 km.
Constructed from solid aluminium magnesium alloy
frame is lightweight and durable and is fitted with an integrated 120 mm brake
disc, and a maximum speed of 22 mph or 35 km/h. The on-board motor is capable
of powering up 15 degree inclines and the overall weight of the electric
scooter is 13.5 kg when equipped with the smaller battery or 14.9 kg and
equipped with the larger range 8.8Ah battery pack.
