US-based company BLU Products has just announced the
immediate availability of its first selfie-oriented Android smartphone. Dubbed
VIVO 8L, the handset has nothing to do with the popular Chinese brand Vivo.
Aside from the really impressive 20-megapixel
front-facing camera, BLU VIVO 8L enlists a set of mid-range specs to appeal to
consumers. The VIVO 8L is now available for purchase at Amazon for just US$ 150,
exactly 25% cheaper than the MSRP. After the promotional offer ends, Amazon
will continue to sell the BLU VIVO 8L for US$ 200.
The VIVO 8L ships with Android 7.0 Nougat on board
and packs an octa-core MediaTek 6753 processor inside, which is complemented by
3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. The 5.3-inch display with HD (720p)
resolution is protected by curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The primary 13-megapixel camera on the back side
features a Sony IMX258 sensor, F/2.0 aperture, real-time HDR, and PDAF (phase
detection autofocus) with laser focus. A rear-mounted fingerprint sensor is
included as well, along with USB OTG (on-the-go) capability.
The 20-megapixel selfie camera includes advanced
technologies that allow users to take the best pictures in low-light
conditions. Enhanced face beautification software and smart scene picture
detection are just some of the technologies used by the phone's camera.
BLU VIVO 8L is powered by a
robust 4,000 mAh battery that should provide up to 32 hours of talk time or
around 72 hours of music play, but with saving mode activated.
