Recently born wearable manufacturer Microwear have
just announced a professional smartwatch aimed at athletes. The sports
smartwatch will be called Microwear L1 and it’ll be featuring the latest mobile
positioning system built-in into the MTK2503 chip, double-star positioning and
a variety of high quality sensors to monitor your steps, heart rate, blood
pressure, sleep and so on.
The upcoming smartwatch will also inform you on the
current air pressure, altitude and compass based on your location. There’s a
SIM slot so that you can make calls if you want to and a camera to snap photos
wherever you go.
The watch is actually smart and it can analyze all
the data it logs during use. Down below you can have a look at the different
outdoor tools, such as barometric altitude measurement and compass. Then we
have what’s probably the best feature, the heart rate monitor helps you keep
track of how hard your heart is working at all times. Same goes for the blood
pressure and sleeping patterns.
The Microwear L1 will also record the GPS routes you
go through every day, and then you can share this data with your friends if you
want to. As far as sports go, the Microwear L1 support different movement
patterns including working, running, riding and more. The watch will record the
mileage, calories burnt, speed and heart rate changes for up to a dozen sports.
The watch is totally independent so you can leave
your phone at home and go work out without worrying about anything else. The
Microwear L1 will have a long time standby of up to 5 days, if you use GPS for
an hour and communicate 30 minutes a day. you can expect more to days of
autonomy on a full charge.
The sports smartwatch also uses a dual core CPU
design, which allows it to save energy when using different sensors such as
step counting, heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring and others. The built-in
battery has a capacity of 480mAh and its made with polymer lithium-ion.
