Alcatel X1


Alcatel has silently launched a new Android smartphone called the X1 in India. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, and sports an iris scanner called Eye-D, which lets you unlock the phone without touching it. It measures 6.99 mm around the waist, and comes with an anodised aluminium frame and a layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass at the back.

The Alcatel X1 offers a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a layer of Asahi’s Dragontrail glass on top. The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, aided by 2 GB of RAM. It comes with 16 GB of internal memory, further expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card. For imaging, it gets a 13 MP autofocus rear snapped with a dual-tone LED flash, 5P lens and f/2.2 aperture. It also gets a 5 MP front-facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash. Connectivity-wise, it offers dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. A 2,150 mAh battery keeps the phone running.

The Alcatel X1 also sports Hi-Fi audio with Cirrus logic and Arkamys technology. The phone has been priced at Rs 15,999, and is up for grabs on Amazon India and Flipkart.
