This is Xiaomi’s first tri-band Wi-Fi 6 router. It has a total of 12 external antennas that cover the 2.4 GHz band (up to 1,148 Mbps of bandwidth) and two 5 GHz bands (4,804 Mbps + 2,402 Mbps), one of which is dedicated to gaming, so that other devices on the network won’t interfere.
The router has a 2.5 Gbps WAN port and four gigabit LAN ports, plus a single USB-A 3.0 port. It is powered by a 14 nm Qualcomm chipset with six Cortex-A53 cores running at 2.2 GHz and two NPU cores at 1.7 GHz. The chipset is hooked up to 1 GB of RAM. A built-in cooling fan ensures consistent performance.
Besides the 12 Wi-Fi antennas, there’s also a dedicated AIoT antenna that allows the router to act as a hub for your Xiaomi-compatible smart home gadgets. The Xiaomi Mi Router AX9000 can be yours for € 300.
