iNew U9
Slim bezels are the flavour of the
season. While some are doing it, some think they are doing it. The newest brand to jump on to this
bandwagon (kind of) happens to be iNew, who have just announced their new iNew
U9.
The phone is targeted at folks who are in the market looking for a budget
phablet. By phablet, I don’t refer to a 5.5-inch phone they’re the standard
now. But instead, 6-inch.
The iNew U9 has an HD resolution of 1280
x 720 pixels across its 6-inch display, and a 2.5D curved glass on top of it.
Besides that, the phone is powered by the favourite budget SoC among Chinese
makers, the quad-core MediaTek MT6735 along with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB on-board
ROM.
The phone will sell for a price of
around US$ 100 (hopefully below that), which makes its 3,000 mAh battery sound
fairly good capacity. As for the camera segment on the U9, it has an 8
mega-pixel rear shooter paired with a 2 mega-pixel one on the front. Network
support on the phone includes the following bands – FDD-LTE:B1/3/7/8/20, WCDMA:
B1/8 and GSM: B2/3/5/8. The phone is expected to go on sale by the first week
of next month. It’ll be available in four colors – Black, White, Gold and Rose
Gold.
