Intex Aqua Fish
Intex, an Indian mobile vendor in
partnership with Jolla, the maker of Sailfish OS and Jolla Phone, has announced
Aqua Fish smartphone, which is powered by Sailfish 2.0, the latest version of
the mobile operating system, which works on the lines of Linux family. This
smartphone was first showcased in Shanghai last year in July that’s when these
two companies announced their partnership.
The Aqua Fish smartphone comes with
5-inch 720p IPS display and is powered by a Quad-core processor, which is
clocking at 1.3 GHz. The device is supported by a 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of
internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card slot. In the camera
department, it has an 8-megapixel image sensor, which is supported by an LED
Flash, while on the front is a 2-megapixel module.
Talking about the user interface, the
company touts that it is completely redesigned to be faster and user-friendly
and thus offering smooth and effective multitasking. Meanwhile, it also
introduces advanced Android application compatibility. Yes, for those who
didn’t know, the Sailfish OS can run Android applications. The new OS 2.0
promises improved stability and performance.
Regarding connectivity options, it
supports 4G LTE networks, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and option to use
dual SIM cards. You can charge the 2,500 mAh capacity battery via microUSB port.
It isn’t a large battery, but per say to the low-end specifications, it should
suffice for the day’s charge. If you’re interested in getting this handset, it
would be possible to do so in the coming April month. The Intex Aqua Fish will
be sporting two color finishes; Orange and Black, with a price tag of around Rs
7000, which approximately equals to US$ 100.
