Firefly Mobile just announced a new
smartphone offering for the Philippine market which promises great performance
with a very affordable price tag. Meet the Intense 64 LTE smartphone.
The smartphone is now available at any kiosks and concept
stores around the Philippines for only PHP 7,999. So what Intense 64 LTE
offering in return for that asking price?
First
of all this is a very powerful device for its asking price in terms of specs
and design. Many
of us are not that too familiar with this company name, we may have heard it a
couple of times before but it is not really as familiar as other local electronics
companies like MyPhone and Cherry Mobile but what Firefly Mobile is offering,
especially this Intense 64 LTE smartphone, is something that we should consider
as our next Android smartphone.
Now
let’s get down to the specs and features of this brand new budget-friendly
smartphone. Right out of the box we get to see a 5.5-inch IPS display with
1280×720 resolution and OGS full lamination Touch Display, this particular
display should provide a very bright and clear display. Firefly Mobile made the
screen scratch resistant with the addition of Asahi Dragontrail Glass as a
layering protection to it.
Powering
the smartphone is the latest generation of MediaTek MT6732 64-bit processor
clocked at 1.5 GHz with four cores, it is a 64-bit chip which means it is
optimized for energy efficiency not to mention its mobile OS Android 4.4.4
Kitkat which is a pretty good combination to fully maximize the battery juice
of the smartphone which comes with large 2,800 mAh. The processor can support Android Lollipop and
Firefly said that Over-The-Air update delivery system in built in with the
device, an Android 5.0 Lollipop will definitely come soon to the smartphone. In
fact Firefly Mobile said its “Android Lollipop ready” and they are already
working on the update.
Partnered
with the processor is a 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage which is
expandable via microSD card up to 128 GB so space is not going to be a problem
here. Firefly Mobile understands that storage is almost as important as the
battery size that’s why they customized the firmware to enable
“apps-to-microSD” transfer feature, which is nice.
Even
cameras are not left with less power. On the back sits a 13 MP shooter equipped
with Backside Illumination technology or simply BSI with f/2.2 aperture to make
sure a better photo is captured even in dark environment, the front camera
which is at 8MP is also empowered with BSI and a f/2.8 aperture. So picture and
selfie lovers are all covered with the Intense 64 LTE smartphone.
