Aside from the much-anticipated Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, at its event in China today Xiaomi also unveiled the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro. These are almost flagship tablets, but not quite, since they're using upper-midrange chipsets: the Pad 7 goes with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, and the Pad 7 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
They both have an 11.2" 3200x2136 LCD
touchscreen with 3:2 aspect ratio, 144 Hz refresh rate, and 800-nit peak
brightness, and an 8,850 mAh battery, but whereas the 'vanilla' model charges
at up to 45W, the Pro goes up to 67W.
The Pad 7 has a 13 MP rear camera and an 8
MP front-facing camera, while the Pro has a 50 MP rear one and a 32 MP
front-facing shooter. Both models run Xiaomi's HyperOS 2, presumably on top of
Android 15, although that hasn't been confirmed yet. You do get a side-mounted
fingerprint sensor on both. Both tablets come in 8/128GB, 8/256GB, and 12/256GB
RAM/storage combos, the Pro also has an exclusive 12/512GB version. The measurements
are identical between the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro: 251.22 x 173.42 x 6.18 mm, and
each one weighs exactly 500g. They are both going to be available in black,
blue, and green.
The Pad 7 will start at CNY 1,999
(US$ 280).
