The vivo X200 series will launch on October 14 at an event in Beijing, China. We expect vivo X200 and vivo X200 Pro phones, and it looks like a mini version, the vivo X200 Pro mini, will also be available. The name of this phone popped up on Weibo in a post from a vivo brand manager Jia Jingdong, who welcomed a new brand ambassador.
The executive introduced Zheng Qingwen, a
tennis player and the winner of the Olympic gold in Paris 2024 – the first woman
from Asia to win the accolade. Weibo often reveals the device from which the
post is made, and in this case, Jia Jingdong used vivo X200 Pro mini.
This new phone will likely be positioned
between the vanilla and Pro. We expect vivo to take a similar approach as Apple
– the mini will have the footprint of a vanilla X200 but with the hardware of
the X200 Pro, including a top-notch screen and a flagship chipset. According to
one source, the Pro and Pro mini will have a new LYT-818 camera sensor.
Sony developed the sensor using the 22 nm
process, which is 1/1.28" big. It will have a higher signal-to-noise ratio
and power power consumption. The Pro phones could use Sony IMX882 and Samsung
ISOCELL HP9 for the telephoto camera, and there is also an IMX921 in the mix.
There are a lot of unknowns, but we expect to know more in the following three
weeks, leading up to the event.
