Samsung India has unveiled the Galaxy M05, which was basically a re-release of the Galaxy A05. Now the company has introduced the Galaxy F05, which looks different on the outside, but isn’t on the inside. The phone’s claim to fame is the leather pattern on the back. As far as we can tell, there is only one colorway available right now, Twilight Blue.
While we’re looking at the back, we should
note the 50MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture. It can record 1080p video at up to
60fps. Next to it is a 2MP depth sensor. Going around the front, there is an
8MP camera. In short, this is the same setup as on the A05 and M05. Now that
we’re looking at the front, we see the 6.7” PLS LCD with HD+ resolution (720 x
1,600px). It runs at 60Hz. The phone comes with Android 14 out of the box and
Samsung promises 2 OS upgrades.
The Galaxy F05, like its siblings, is
powered by the now quite old Helio G85 chipset. It is paired with 4GB of RAM
(which can be doubled with virtual RAM) and 64GB storage, which is expandable
via microSD thanks to a dedicated slot. And as the image above points out,
there is a 3.5mm headphone jack too. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery inside
and supports 25W charging. You’ll have to supply your own charger, though, as
the phone only ships with a USB C-to-C cable and a SIM ejector tool. The USB-C
port is v2.0, additional connectivity includes Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.3.
There’s no NFC or infrared, but FM radio is available (with a recording
option). In case it wasn’t clear, this is a 4G only phone.
The Samsung Galaxy F05 go on sale on
September 20. It available through retail stores, Samsung.com and
Flipkart. The MSRP is ₹10,000, but will launch with a discount so the starting
price will be ₹8,000.
