Xiaomi has officially announced that the Redmi Bluetooth speaker will go on sale in China at 10:00 on June 14. The device is now up for pre-orders in many e-commerce platforms in the country including Xiaomi Youpin, Xiaomi Home, Xiaomi Mall, Tmall and JD.com for a price tag of 99 Yuan (US$ 14).
The poster reveals that the Bluetooth
speaker will be available in three different colors – Green, Black, and Orange.
As you can see from the image, the product equips a mesh fabric finish
alongside a soft rubber material on the exterior. The speaker is also IP 67
dust and water-resistant which makes it suitable for outdoor use. For those
unfamiliar, the IP67 rating means that the product will be completely protected
from dust and able to manage immersion in up to 100cm of depth in fresh water
for 30 minutes or less. Practically speaking, it should have no problem with
raindrops. A hanging strap is also integrated with the speaker.
The Redmi Bluetooth speaker boasts a
2-unit acoustic configuration with a 1.5″ main driver. The company claims that
it generates clear and bright audio with strong bass. It also supports a 2-unit
stereo combination meaning two speakers can be paired together to two different
channels of a stereo output. For connectivity it uses Bluetooth 5.3.
There is a ‘large’ capacity battery
inside, according to the company. An official claimed that the speaker can play
for 5 hours with a full charge. You get a Type-C port for charging. All three
color options might not become available on June 14. While the black color
option will become available for sale on June 14 on JD.com, you’ll have to wait
for July 2nd and July 15 for the Green and Orange color options respectively.
