Aquos R9 packs a 50MP main cam with a 1/1.55-inch main sensor, f/1.9 aperture, Leica Hektor camera lens, and a 23mm equivalent focal length. It is joined by a 13mm equivalent 50MP ultrawide cam with an f/2.2 lens and a 122-degree field of view. The display boasts a 50MP shooter with an f/2.2 lens embedded in the display with a punch-hole cutout.
There’s a 6.5-inch Pro IGZO OLED display
with a 240Hz refresh rate and 1,500 nits peak brightness. The device sports
stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. Unlike its predecessors which bring flagship
Qualcomm chipsets, Aquos R9 settles for a midrange Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset
and 12GB RAM. The phone boots Android 14 and packs a 5,000 mAh battery. Sharp
also added IP68 and MIL-STD-810H water and dust resistance.
Aquos R9 comes in white and green colors.
Pricing is yet to be revealed. Sharp did confirm the phone is set to launch in
Japan from mid-July.
