Following the Xiaomi Fan Festival, the brand introduces its latest entry-level phone in the Philippines. It comes with a few surprises for its price point like the implementation of faux leather material on its back design for the Olive Green Color and even a 128GB storage option at under PHP 4K. Meanwhile, it is also available in Midnight Black and Star Blue color options but with glass material for its back panel. Another thing you would notice for this phone is the large camera bump which kind of reminds us of the Xiaomi 14's camera island.
At the front, it has a 6.71-inch LCD (IPS)
screen with 1650 x 720 resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass 3
protection. Inside, it has a 2.2GHz 12nm MediaTek Helio G36 octa-core chip with
PowerVR GE8320 GPU clocked at 680MHz.
It is paired with memory options of
3GB/4GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage. There's a 6GB RAM version but
unfortunately, it is not available in the Philippines. In terms of battery, it
has a 5,000mAh capacity that charges using USB-C and 10W power brick.
For cameras, it has 8MP f/2.0 for the main
sensor + auxiliary sensor. At the front, it has a 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera. Other
features are a 3.5mm audio jack, a single-firing speaker, a side-mounted
fingerprint sensor, and a face unlock. Connectivity features are dual 4G VoLTE,
WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS and dual SIM.
For OS, the Redmi A3 runs Android 14 out
of the box. However, the brand didn't say if it's HyperOS or MIUI skin. Anyways,
Redmi noted that it will have 2 major OS upgrades and up to 3 years of security
patches.
