Redmi just announced the first phone in its new Turbo lineup with the Redmi Turbo 3. The Turbo lineup is Redmi’s new performance-oriented series slotting between the Redmi K and Note series. The device is among the first phones to launch with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 – Qualcomm’s recently announced SoC targeting flagship killers.
Redmi Turbo 3 is built around a 6.67-inch
AMOLED with 2,712 x 1,220px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The panel
features 12-bit colors, HDR10+, and 2,400 nits peak brightness. Xiaomi also
added an optical UD fingerprint scanner as well as a 20MP front-facing camera
housed inside a punch-hole cutout. There’s a 50MP main camera with a Sony
LYT-600 sensor (1.6μ pixels, f/1.59 aperture) and OIS around the back. It is
joined by an 8MP IMX355 ultrawide lens.
Redmi Turbo comes with 12GB/16GB LPDDR5X
RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.0 storage. The software side is handled by
Android 14 with HyperOS on top while the battery comes in at 5,000 mAh and
features 90W fast charging.
Redmi Turbo 3 comes in black, green, and
titanium colors. Redmi is also offering a Harry Potter limited edition version.
Pricing in China starts at CNY 1,999 (US$ 276) for the 12/256GB trim and goes up
to CNY 2,799 (US$ 386) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage model. Open sales in China
start on April 15. Redmi Turbo 3 is rumored to arrive as the Poco F6 outside of
China .
