The Galaxy A55 design is hardly surprising – Samsung phones have a pretty uniform look. However, the A15 and A25 introduced the so-called Key Island design, which is a raised area that holds the phone’s side keys (volume and power). The A55 has that trait too, as we saw in renders but now also in live photos posted by TENAA. The Samsung Galaxy A55 has a model number SM-A5560 and there is a related model SM-C5560 – this will be the Galaxy C55 (possibly also known as the Y55).
The A55 ran Geekbench with the upcoming
Exynos 1480, which may or may not feature AMD graphics. Based on rumors, the
phone will have an 8/256GB option plus a microSD slot. As for the Galaxy C55,
we have some more details on that one (courtesy of TENAA). it will have a 6.67”
OLED display (FHD+) with a 13MP selfie camera, a 50+8+2MP triple rear camera
and a 5,000mAh battery. It’s not clear yet how the C55 will deviate from the
A55, but the Galaxy A54 has a smaller 6.4” display and a 12MP ultra wide
camera, not 8MP.
The C55 might instead prove closer to the
Galaxy A35, which also appeared in live photos earlier today. Samsung has not
yet set an official unveiling date for the Galaxy A55, A35, C55 and the rest of
its mid-range offerings (there should be M-series phones too).
