During the Xiaomi 14 Ultra launch event the company also unveiled its first Redmi laptops with Intel Core Ultra processors. There is a 14” model and a 16” one, plus a new gaming monitor. The Redmi Book Pro 14 2024 has a 14” display with 2,880 x 1,800px resolution (16:10) and dynamic refresh rate up to 120Hz. The panel covers 100% of sRGB and promises up to 400 nits of brightness with DC dimming. The laptop has an all-metal body that measures 15.9mm thick and weighs 1.46kg.
The base configuration features an Intel
Core Ultra 5 125H with 4 performance cores, 8 efficiency cores and 2 low power
cores (18 threads total), plus 18MP L3 cache. This can be configured with 16GB
of RAM and 512GB storage or 32GB and 1TB (the RAM is LPDDR5x 7,467MTs, the SSD
is PCIe 4.0). For more power there is the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H with 6
performance cores, 8 efficiency cores and 2 low power cores (22 threads total),
plus 24MB L3 cache. This one is available only with 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD.
The laptop relies on the integrated Intel
Arc graphics. The Ultra 5 chip has 7 Xe cores at 2.2GHz, the Ultra 7 gets an
extra Xe core and a slightly higher frequency at 2.25GHz. Both support hardware
accelerated ray tracing and have NPU cores that speed up AI features in apps.
AI tasks include noise reduction, transcription, framing you in the center of
the 1080p web camera and more. WPS AI will help you write documents, summarize
existing ones and even help you out with formulas for a spreadsheet.
The 14” model has dual fans with dual heat
pipes and can be cranked up to 65W TDP. It is powered by an 80Wh battery with
100W charging using a GaN adapter that is included in the packaging. The Redmi
Book Pro 16 2024 has a 16” display with 3,072 x 1,920px resolution (16:10) and
a dynamic refresh rate that can go up to 165Hz. It is also brighter than the
14” panel at 500 nits while maintaining the 100% sRGB coverage and DDC dimming.
Both support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos with two 2W speakers.
The choice of processors is the same –
Intel Core Ultra 5 125H or Ultra 7 155H – however this time the only memory
configuration is 32GB of RAM and 1TB storage. The cooling is the same, though
the larger body allows the TDP to go slightly higher at 70W. The 16” laptop
measures 15.9mm thick and weighs 1.88kg. This is with a larger 99Wh battery
(the biggest that you can take on a plane) and comes with a faster 140W GaN
adapter.
Charging is done over USB-C. Both laptops
have one Thunderbolt 4, one USB-C, two USB-A 3.2 Gen1, an HDMI 2.1 port and a
3.5mm headphone jack. Network connectivity is handled by a Wi-Fi 6 (ax) adapter
with 2x2 MIMO, there’s also Bluetooth 5.3. The laptops run Windows 11 enhanced
with HyperOS functions. You can use your Xiaomi phone’s camera as a wireless
web cam, for example, or use the laptop’s keyboard to type out a message on a
Xiaomi tablet.

This is a flat 27” mini-LED panel with 1,152 partitions. It can go as low as
0.001 nits and as high as 1,000 nits with HDR1000. It’s an IPS panel with 180Hz
refresh rate and 1ms GTG response time plus FreeSync to avoid screen tearing if
your GPU can’t hit 180 fps. The display uses a Quantum Dot panel that boasts
10-bit colors with 100% sRGB coverage, 99% DCI-P3 and 97% Adobe RGB. There are
four inputs on board, two DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.0. The stand is height
adjustable, can be tilted and rotated around its base. You can even turn in
