FUJIFILM Corporation has announced the successor to the TikTok famous FUJIFILM X100V with a new 40.2MP sensor, In-body image stabilization and more! The new X100VI is the sixth generation model of the X100 series. The same series of cameras that started the X-series of FUJIFILM mirrorless cameras in 2011. FUJIFILM was founded in 1934 and focused on motion films and graphic art film.
It features the same 40.2-megapixel
X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and the same X-Processor 5 that arrived on the X-H2
and X-T5 in 2022. A new super slim in-body image stabilization has been added
that is rated for up to 6 stops of stabilization. The new sensor has an
improved base ISO of 125 instead of the previous generations' extended ISO 125.
Attached to the body is the same FUJINON
23mm f/2.0 from the previous generation that was designed to resolve higher
resolution sensors such as the new 40.2MP now inside. It has anodized aluminium
top and bottom plates which adds to its premium compact and analog rangefinder
design and build.
The VI comes with a total of 20 film
simulation modes including the new 'REALA ACE' which was first introduced last
year's GFX100II. The company claims that it faithfully reproduces color with
high contrast and tonality. The camera now incorporates the impressive
autofocus prediction algorithm for reliable autofocus that takes advantage of
the X-Processor 5's subject detection AF to accurately track a range of
subjects including humans, animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles,
airplanes, trains, insects and drones. It also now comes with touch tracking
where a user can tap the object they want the camera's autofocus to track on
the touch screen and the camera should be able to follow it.
At the back is the 3-inch 1.62 Million-dot
tilting touch screen LCD while above it is the built-in 3.69 Million-dot
Electronic OLED optical viewfinder. It can now tilt 15 degrees more than the
previous generation which allows for a flat tilt. Like previous generations, it
comes with the Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder which allows users to freely switch
between the Optical View Finder, Electronic View Finder and Hybrid Viewfinder
which displays relevant information to the user.
The camera can now capture up to 6.2K at
30fps 4:2:2 10-bit internal video recording. The camera also supports the
Frame.io camera to the cloud without the need for additional accessories. It
permits users to wirelessly connect to an active internet connection,
authenticate to Frame.io and automatically upload photos and videos moments
after creation. This should dramatically speed up the workflow process from
shooting to final editing. It is compatible with previous generation
accessories including the Adapter Ring (AR-X100), Protector Filter (PRF-49),
Wide Conversion Lens (WCL-X100 II), and Telecoversion lens (TCL-X100 II).
It uses the NP-W125s 1,260mAh battery
which is rated for approximately 380 shots when in economy mode, 320 frames in
normal mode or up to 310 frames in boost mode. The body is fully weather
resistant once the user installs a protector filter on the lens. 2024 is also
FUJIFILM's 90th anniversary. To celebrate, the camera brand will be releasing a
Limited Edition of the X100VI with only 1,934 units will be made worldwide. The
unit will be packed in a special box with the inclusion of a unique strap, soft
shutter release and history cards.
Engraved on the body is the corporate
brand logo from FUJIFILM's founding in 1934 along with a unique serial number.
