Honor unveiled the Magic V2 foldable smartphone back in July 2023 in China. The device is among the bestselling foldables in the Chinese market as it managed to sell around 8 million units in about 3 months. The brand has already announced its plans to launch the smartphone in the global market in 2024.
Ahead of its launch, the foldable has
appeared on the IMDA certification website with the model number VER-N49. While
its IMDA listing hints at a potential launch in Singapore, the exact date
remains undisclosed. That being said, the brand previously announced that the
Magic V2 will be launching in regions like Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, the
UK, and Some Latin American markets. The phone might also launch in some South
East Asian markets.
Honor CEO Geoge Zhao stated that the Honor
Magic V2 is likely to be priced similarly to the Magic VS. To recall, the Magic
VS with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage was priced at 1,599 euros for the
global market. The Honor Magic V2 comes equipped with a 7.92-inch foldable LTPO
OLED display boasting a resolution of 2156 x 2344 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate,
and a brightness of up to 1,600 nits. Additionally, it features a 6.43-inch
LTPO OLED cover screen on the front, offering Full HD+ resolution (2376 x 1080
pixels), a 120Hz refresh rate, and a brightness of up to 2,500 nits. The device
is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.
Internally, the Magic V2 is available with
up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage in the Chinese
market. Fueling the device is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 66W fast
charging. For security features, it includes a side-facing fingerprint scanner.
In terms of photography, the Magic V2
sports a 16-megapixel front camera. On the back panel, users will find a
versatile camera setup, including a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support,
a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens with autofocus capabilities, and a 50-megapixel
telephoto camera featuring OIS and 2.5x optical zoom.
