At CES 2024, ASUS, the Taiwanese tech giant, showcased a range of innovative products, including the Zenbook Duo (2024), a dual-screen OLED laptop with a detachable keyboard, and the ZenScreen Fold OLED, a foldable portable display. They also unveiled a new range of mini-PCs in the NUC series, following their acquisition of Intel’s NUC business. Additionally, ASUS has now launched the ExpertCenter PN65 mini PC under their own brand, competing in the mini PC market alongside their gaming-focused ROG NUC, showing a strong focus in this area.
The PN65 offers users a choice between
Intel Core Ultra 5 125H and Core Ultra 7 155H processors, both belonging to the
Intel Meteor Lake family and featuring Intel Arc integrated graphics. The Core
Ultra 7 variant stands out with its additional CPU and GPU cores, higher clock
speeds, and increased cache capacity. It also boasts dual-channel DDR5 48GB
memory and dual PCIe M.2 2280 Gen4 x4 support. Despite its powerful
capabilities, this mini PC is impressively compact, measuring just 120 x 130 x
58 mm, making it a space-saving choice.
In terms of connectivity, the ExpertCenter
PN65 doesn’t disappoint. It includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, three USB
3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, two HDMI ports, a 2.5 GbE
Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm audio port. There’s also a DC power input and a
unique configurable port that can be adapted for HDMI, DisplayPort 1.4, VGA,
2.5 GbE Ethernet, or RS-232 COM port functionality. In terms of wireless
connectivity, ASUS guarantees WiFi 6 support or higher for all models, with
some regions having the option for WiFi 6E and WiFi 7 models.
It features simplified management with an
RGB boot status indicator and tool-less SSD and HDD installation for easy
upgrades and also comes with an anti-dust self-cleaning system. Additionally,
it has eco-friendly certifications and uses recycled materials in its
