Acer Predator Helios 16 and 18


During the Predator League 2024 Grand Finals, Acer gave us a quick look at its gaming behemoth Helios series. The two products are called the Helios 16 and 18 both almost similar internals with some changes to screen and graphics card options. Starting with the Helios 16 model comes with a 16-inch WQXGA IPS Mini-LED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate, 16:10 aspect ratio, and color-accurate rating DCI-P3 100 percent.

The Helios 18 features a bigger 18-inch Mini-LED (IPS) panel, 16:10 aspect ratio, WQXGA resolution, 250Hz refresh rate, Advanced Optimus, 1,000 nits of max brightness Inside, the Helios 16 and 18 features choices of 14th-gen Intel Core i7-14700HX or Core i9-14900HX processors, up to 32GB of dual-channel DDR5 RAM clocked at 5600 MHz, and up to 4TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD in Raid O.

For graphics options, the Helios 16 may feature either RTX 4070 or 4080. On the other hand, the Helios 18 has choices of RTX 4080 or 4090. In terms of battery, both are equipped with a 90WHr 4-cell Li-ion battery. However, there's no information yet for the charging speeds of the devices.

Others are the FHD web camera with Temporal Noise Reduction, DTS:X Ultra Audio with optimized bass, micro-speaker distortion prevention, and Acer Purified Voice 2.0 (triple mic array w/ AI). It also has a Per-Key RGB backlit Keyboard featuring MagKey 3.0 swappable WASD keycaps with mechanical tactile and multiple LED lighting.

For wireless connectivity, they are equipped with killer WiFi 7 1750. There's also Killer E3100G for wired Ethernet connection. Finally, these laptops run Windows 11 Home for software. Unfortunately, Acer has kept their mouths shut regarding the availability of these products as well as their prices.
