The South Korean giant is set to launch the Galaxy XCover 7 rugged smartphone shortly. The new smartphone is already doing the rounds on the Internet via some leaks and public certifications. After appearing on BIS India, a while ago and confirming its India launch for the first time, the Galaxy XCover 7 just made it through GCF certification, bearing model code SM-G556B.
The listing confirms the 5G connectivity
and NFC on board. Other details remain under wraps, and we have to wait for the
official launch in the coming few days. The smartphone is set to succeed the
Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro which comes with Snapdragon 778G SoC and 4050 mAh
battery.
Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 design was
recently leaked, showcasing the grooved back panel for better grip and shock
absorption. Further, a single rear camera is seen with dual LED flash. An
XCover physical button on the side is also present. It even features a
removable battery pack. As per the Geekbench listing, the smartphone will come
with Dimensity 6100 Plus chipset coupling 8 GB RAM. It will be running Android
14 out of the box.
It will be MIL-STD-810H compliant and
offer IP68 dust and water-resistant. Samsung XCover 6 Pro was launched at US$ 599
which roughly converts to Rs 49,999. The successor will likely retail at a
similar price point.
