Infinix is gearing up to unveil a new Smart 8 series smartphone in the Indian market. The company recently started the sale for the Smart 8 HD model in the region, and now, it appears that the base Smart 8 handset is set to debut soon.
The smartphone maker is plnning to release
the Smart 8 in India soon. This device will likely launch sometime in January
2023. So we can expect the Chinese brand to announce the official launch date
soon. For those unaware, the Smart 8 was previously launched in the Nigerian
market. Now, Infinix is expected to debut the smartphone in a special edition
variant that features a timber textured panel on the rear.
To recall, the Infinix Smart 8 sports a
6.6-inch IPS LCD panel that offers HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, 500 nits
of peak brightness, aand 180Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, it is
equipped with the UNISOC T606 chipset that is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and
128GB of internal storage. Users can further expand storage and RAM via a
microSD card slot and virtual RAM expansion support.
Infinix Smart 8 features a 13-megapixel
dual camera setup on the back, while the front houses a 5-megapixel selfie
shooter. The device runs on the Android 13 Go Edition out of the box, features
a side mounted fingerprint scanner and offers Face unlock as well. Since it is
an entry level smartphone, we can expect it to debut for a sub-10K INR price
range. The Smart 8 HD model debuted in India for a starting price tag of 6,299
INR. So the company could release the device for a similar price range.
