Rumors so far are pointing to significant under-the-hood changes for the upcoming Galaxy S24 series. As for the hood itself, well, photos of dummies have surfaced and let’s just say that they look familiar. All three models are represented – the Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra – in the photos shared by @SonnyDickson. The two smaller models have flat sides and rounded corners with only the three camera lenses protruding on the back.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra stands out with its
more rectangular look and two additional camera lenses on the back. Previously,
CAD-based renders leaked and revealed the measurements of the phone – 162.3 x
79.0 x 8.7mm, basically the same as the S23 Ultra within a millimeter.
Unfortunately, the dummies were not photographed from the front – the new Ultra
is supposed to flatten out (though it won’t be completely flat). The weight is
supposed to be the same too.
Renders of the Galaxy S24+ show its
dimensions will be 158.5 x 75.9 x 7.75mm, another leak put the S24 dimensions
at 147.0 x 70.5 x 7.6mm. This, again, is the same as the S23+ and the S23 down
to around a millimeter. Note that Samsung is rumored to be switching to
titanium frames for the 2024 flagships, moving away from Armor Aluminum. The
dummies are all painted white, but we’ve already heard whispers of the four
core colorways and a few more colors (some of these will probably be exclusive
to the Samsung store).
Having mentioned the displays, all three
will be LTPO panels, according to rumors (at long last). The rear cameras will
feature some upgrades with most of the changes concentrated on the Ultra model.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is expected to be revealed in January at an
Unpacked event in the US.
