Anbernic has recently introduced its latest handheld gaming consoles, the RG ARC-D and RG ARC-S, expanding its lineup of gaming devices. These consoles come equipped with a 4-inch IPS screen boasting a resolution of 640×480 pixels.
The RG ARC-D model offers versatility with
its dual operating system capability, supporting both Android 11 and Linux.
This model is enhanced with a multi-touch screen, making it more interactive.
It’s powered by the Rockchip RK3566 Quad-Core 64-bit Cortex-A55 processor,
running at a main frequency of 1.8GHz, and is equipped with 2GB of LPDDR4 RAM
and 16G TF + eMMC 32GB of internal storage.
The RG ARC-S, on the other hand, operates
solely on Linux and features a standard screen without touch capability. It
includes 1GB LPDDR4 RAM and 16G TF of storage. Both models support dual TF card
expansion, up to 512GB. These consoles are designed to be highly functional and
versatile, supporting a wide range of games, including those ported from PC, as
well as over 20 other game formats. Users can also download games in compatible
formats. In terms of connectivity, both models come equipped with 2.4/5G WIFI
802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.2. They feature high-quality dual horn stereo
speakers for an immersive audio experience.
Anbernic has paid special attention to the
gaming experience. The gaming handhelds feature customizable button layouts,
ensuring a comfortable gaming experience. They also support various
functionalities like HDMI casting, local multiplayer, streaming, and Bluetooth
controller connections. The built-in 3500mAh Li-polymer battery promises up to
6 hours of gaming, supported by a C2C charger. The design of these consoles
pays homage to classic gaming, with a six-button layout arranged in an arc for
tactile feedback and a round disc D-pad for precise control.
These handheld consoles available for pre-sale from November 9, 2023, and are expected to start shipping
by November 20, 2023. The pricing for the consoles begins at 399 yuan (US$ 55) for
the RG ARC-S and 499 yuan (US$ 69) for the RG ARC-D.
